Tournament Rules

These rules apply to every ExA Cup tournament unless a cup page publishes stricter or more detailed rules. Admins and referees make the final call to keep brackets fair and on schedule.

The rulebook

  1. Eligibility and accounts

Entry is free and open, but every player competes under one verified ExA Cup account.

    • You need a verified ExA Cup account, with the exact game account you registered linked to it.
    • One account per player. Smurfing, ringers, account sharing, or impersonation removes you from the bracket.
    • Stay reachable through the contact method on your account, because check-in and match info are sent there.
    • In 2v2 and larger, every member of the roster must meet these rules, and ranks are public on each cup page.
  2. Registration and check-in

Hold your spot by registering, then confirm you are ready by checking in before the deadline.

    • Register on the cup page while spots are open. Capacity and the format are shown there.
    • Players or team captains must check in before the deadline shown on the cup page or announcement.
    • No-shows and late check-ins are dropped so the bracket stays on schedule.
    • If something delays you, message admins early with proof rather than after the match starts.
  3. Formats and brackets

Cups run from 1v1 up to 5v5 on a single-elimination bracket, and the seeding draw is provably fair.

    • Formats range from 1v1 to 5v5, and the exact size is set per cup.
    • Brackets are single elimination, so one loss ends your run.
    • The bracket draw uses a SHA-512 commit-reveal seed you can verify on the Fairness page.
    • Teams are required for 2v2 and larger, and the captain represents the roster for check-in and reporting.
  4. Maps and match play

Each cup sets its own map pool and selection, then matches follow a standard competitive ruleset.

    • The map pool and how maps are picked are configured per cup and shown before the match.
    • Play the standard competitive ruleset unless the cup page states an exception.
    • Set up lobbies, sides, and rounds exactly as the cup instructions describe.
    • Save your own clips or recordings in case a round is questioned later.
  5. Reporting results and proof

The winner reports the result quickly, and both sides keep proof until the bracket is over.

    • Winners report the result promptly and provide proof whenever an admin asks for it.
    • Acceptable proof includes a final scoreboard screenshot, a match link, or a VOD.
    • Both players or teams keep their proof until the whole bracket is finished.
    • False results, edited screenshots, or refusing to show proof can cost you the match.
  6. Fair play and anti-cheat

Win on skill. Cheating or manipulating a match breaks the bracket for everyone and is treated seriously.

    • No cheats, exploits, stream sniping, collusion, ringers, or smurf accounts.
    • No harassment, hate speech, threats, or disruptive conduct in or around a match.
    • Cheating or false reports can mean a technical loss, disqualification, or account restriction.
    • An active Ubisoft ban or clear evidence of misconduct can remove you from a cup.
  7. Disputes and referees

When two sides disagree, referees review the proof and make the call that keeps the bracket fair.

    • Raise a dispute as soon as it happens, with your proof attached.
    • Admins and referees review both sides and may reverse a result or hold a prize during review.
    • Keep communication respectful, because abusing referees can itself be penalized.
    • After review, the referee decision is final.
  8. Prizes and payouts

Prizes are real and USD-based, set per cup as winner-takes-all or a split, and paid after verification.

    • Each cup page shows the prize, whether it is winner-takes-all or split, and the payout method.
    • Prizes are USD-primary and decided per cup by the organizers.
    • Payouts can require identity, account, or anti-fraud checks before they are released.
    • Verify your account early so a win is not delayed at payout.

Provably fair draws

Every bracket draw is committed in advance and revealed afterward with a SHA-512 seed, so no one can rig the seeding. You can check the proof yourself.

Common questions

Yes. 1v1 cups are solo by design, and you can enter any cup that fits your roster size. For 2v2 and larger you need a full team, with a captain who handles check-in and reporting.
